2015 Vegetable Share Program CSA
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is vital for small vegetable farms. In this system supporters pre-buy shares for vegetables and fruits at a specific farm, investing in that farm’s future harvest. For the farmer the advantage is having the funds to invest in the new season without going into debt and for the shareholders it is the knowledge that they will be receiving the best and the freshest vegetables and fruits that farm produces.
Marvellous Edibles, as a Certified Organic farm is committed to supply the best that the farm produces. We believe that our wide selection of vegetables and fruits offer an excellent program to CSA’s.
Pick ups are at the farm Wednesdays 3:30 to 7:30 daylight permitting.
Because we are set up as a vegetable stand and as a shareholder you can choose the vegetables you want you will also have access to organic eggs, preserves and baking. This year we will be offering Artisanal, Sourdough Breads baked with Certified Organic ingredients. Our program allows you to choose the produce you want at farm pickup.
Coming to the farm for pick up
has its advantages because we are set up as a vegetable stand and as a shareholder you can choose the vegetables you want as well as having access to organic eggs, meats preserves and baking.
Our program allows you to choose the produce you want. Each vegetable will have a point value, for example bunch of beets is 1 point, head lettuce is 1 one point, quart of potatoes is 1 point etc. Each share will have a certain number of points to spend (8 small and 16 large).
In addition, for holidays you can opt out of up to 3 weeks. And if you cannot be there to pick up send a friend who will sign in and pick up for you.
The Amount you pay depends on the number of weeks and the size of the share you choose:
EARLY BIRD SPECIAL: Discount of one week’s payment for those who buy their share before May 15th.
All payments are due on June 1, 2013.
We require a 20% down payment on registration and a cheque for the balance, post dated June 1, 2014. If you wish you can pay the balance in 3 equal instalments with cheques post dated to June, July and August 1st. You can cancel any time with two weeks notice and will receive a full refund for the remaining weeks.
